Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how LotClips ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Service. Contact us at lotclipssupport@gmail.com.

1. Overview

We collect what we need to render your videos, bill your account, prevent abuse, and communicate with you. We do not sell your data, and we do not run ads against your data.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: your email address, magic-link tokens (hashed), and timestamps for sign-ins and account activity.

Dealership information you provide: dealership name, phone number, website URL, uploaded logo, and accent color.

Uploaded media: video clips and photos you upload for rendering.

Vehicle information you provide: year, make, model, price, mileage, vehicle type, feature highlights, and similar listing details.

Billing information: processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We store only your Stripe customer ID, your current plan, your subscription status, and metadata about purchases. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full bank details — Stripe handles those.

Technical information: IP address, user agent, request timestamps. We use these for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and basic operational logging.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide the rendering service (transcode and assemble your videos);
  • Deliver finished videos to you by email and in your dashboard;
  • Process subscriptions and one-time purchases via Stripe;
  • Authenticate you (magic-link sign-in);
  • Prevent abuse (rate limiting, fraud detection);
  • Communicate with you about service status, billing, and material changes.

We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models. We do not share your content with anyone outside of the sub-processors listed below.

4. Sub-Processors

We use the following service providers to operate LotClips:

  • Amazon Web Services — file storage (S3) and rendering compute (Lambda) in the US (us-east-1)
  • MongoDB Atlas — database
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email (sign-in links, video delivery)
  • Vercel — application hosting

Each sub-processor processes data only as needed to provide its service to us.

5. What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your information with advertisers.
  • We do not use your uploaded content for purposes other than providing the Service to you.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential — to keep you signed in (NextAuth session) and to process payments (Stripe checkout). These cookies are required and cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics — none are active right now. If we add analytics in the future, they will be enabled only with your consent.
  • Marketing — none are active right now. If we add advertising measurement pixels in the future, they will be enabled only with your consent.
  • Preferences (essential) — the lc_consent cookie stores your cookie preferences for one year. Removing this cookie will cause the consent banner to appear again on your next visit.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data and uploaded content for as long as you maintain an account. You can request deletion at any time by emailing lotclipssupport@gmail.com from your account email. We will delete your user record, dealership record, jobs, and uploaded and rendered files within 30 days of receiving a verified request, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices:

  • All traffic to and from the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
  • Files in S3 and database records are encrypted at rest under provider defaults.
  • We use magic-link authentication; we do not store or transmit passwords.
  • Payment data is handled by Stripe and never reaches our servers.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email lotclipssupport@gmail.com from your account email. We verify requests by matching the email to your account on file.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes acceptance.
